Dunlop will once again celebrate its premium range of tyres and racing successes at the annual Festival of Motoring at Kyalami over the weekend of 30 August to 1 September 2024. To that end, South Africa’s favourite tyre brand has something really special and unique up its sleeve for showgoers at the Grand Prix Circuit this year.

“We are excited to announce that Dunlop will host something completely different, a fully immersive journey, taking the road through our brand’s iconic history in South Africa. We’ve pulled out all the stops in our custom marquee at the annual Festival of Motoring at Kyalami and can’t wait to share the experience with visitors this weekend,” Dunlop Tyres, PR & Events Manager, Joanne de Freitas explains. 

The Dunlop Road is a Festival of Motoring journey through time to showcase Dunlop’s key milestones, such as their invention of the world’s first inflatable tyre in 1888, it’s range of tyre products, achievements, and much more. The journey allows visitors to ‘take the road’ through multiple activations and competitions, starting with a Did you Know wall before moving on to taking a look into their manufacturing plant at UMnambithi (formerly known as Ladysmith) in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. 

From there, the Road takes visitors on to classic Dunlop marketing campaigns like the unforgettable SP33 Staffie Ad, with a selfie photobooth opportunity en-route. Then the Road steps off the beaten track to salute Dunlop’s amazing Grandtrek range of bakkie and 4x4 tyres. The Road continues with a celebration of Dunlop’s significant South African Motorsport successes with a display that includes the chance, if you fit, to sit in a Formula Vee single seater race car.
