Famous for synthetic oils, Habot has aircraft covered too
While Habot Performance Synthetic Lubricants are renowned as the best money can buy for racing, automotive and industrial applications, did you know that Habot is also a leading aviation lubricant supplier in South Africa?
Habot may not manufacture its jet lubes as it does the rest of its highest grade oils, but its aero line comprises the best on the market. Military and aero industry graded Habot aviation products list include a broad range of ExxonMobil lubricants and NYCO specialised oils.
“Our nose-to-tail aero specification lubricant solutions help reduce aircraft fleet maintenance and operating costs throughout the South African industry,” Habot Aerospace Sales and Marketing Manager Johan Roodt explains. “Our broad range of Exxon, Mobil and NYCO lubes provide a nose-to tail solution and we supply country wide in whatever volumes required.”
The broad ExxonMobil Jet Oil range covers all specifications from Airbus, Boeing, Military, SAE and others, depending on the application. It includes a trio of Synthetic turbine engine oils covering most applications in Mobil Jet Oil II, Jet Oil 254, and Jet Oil 387. Mobil Avrex S Turbo 256 is a synthetic gas turbine oil, with Avrex M Turbo 201/1010 as a mineral alternative.
Exxon Aviation Oil Elite 20W-50 is a semi-synthetic ashless-dispersant multigrade piston engine oil, Mobil AGL is a synthetic gear lubricant, and Exxon HyJet V is a Type V fire-resistant phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluid. It also comes in a broader-specification ester-based Plus version. Mobil Aero also makes a regular mineral-based HF and HFA hydraulic oil.
Mobilgrease 33 is a synthetic multipurpose aircraft grease lithium complex thickener, while the 28 variety has a clay thickener. Mobil Aviation Grease SHC 100 is a Synthetic aircraft wheel bearing grease with a lithium complex thickener. Mobil also supplies Coolanol 20, 25R and OS-59 synthetic dielectric heat transfer fluids.
ExxonMobil Jet Oils are shipped in both 24 quart packs or 55-gallon drums, with the faster moving lines also available in 5-gallon pails, while Mobil Jet Oil II can also be ordered in 330-gallon totes. Shelf life is between five and ten years, depending on the packaging type.
“ExxonMobil Jet Lubes are recognised as the world aviation oil standard. They are first fill on most airliners including the latest Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350,” Johan Roodt concludes. “We also cover all aero oil requirements through the ExxonMobil fluids and greases, while our NYCO range takes care of any maintenance hangar needs. We are the complete nose to tail aero lubes deal!”
Habot also offers a separate complete aircraft lubricant range through its NYCO high performance aircraft power plant, airframe and maintenance lubricant solutions. TurboNycOil 600 is for instance a standard lubricating oil with low high temperature volatility, a higher flash point, excellent foaming resistance and superior lubricity that has logged up over 30-million flying hours sine 1985.
TurboNycOil 3560 and 3570 is for piston engine light aircraft, while the NYCO range spreads from fixed-wing through helicopters and covers it all from specialised protective fluids and engine preservation oils to APU, starter, IDG, propeller, and accessory lubes to cater for all flying conditions. NYCO’s a complete helicopter lubes range likewise covers engines, power transmissions, landing gear and wheels on all types.
NYCO’s solvent-free biodegradable NATO aero spec NycoLube is a high-penetrating anti-corrosion and anti-wear 127 CLP BIO synthetic cleaner, lubricant and preservative weapon oil. With excellent water-displacing properties and a high flash point, it is perfect for cleaning, lubricating and preserving everything from airliners, private planes and fighter aircraft to weapons of any calibre, and ground vehicles in general.
